Tech Tips - Adobe Reader Crashes When Trying To Print

A customer of ours with a small firm called in a few weeks ago with an issue while printing from the Adobe Reader.  The solution below solved the problem and the user was back in business.

Issue: Adobe Acrobat Reader X crashes when trying to print.

System: Adobe Acrobat Reader X, Windows 7 x64

Error Code: N/A

Solution: Disable “Protected Mode” at startup

  • Open Edit>Preferences>General – Deselect the checkbox for “Enable protected mode at startup”.

  • Close the program, re-open, and test printing.
