Many organizations scrambling to come up with virtual meeting and project management solutions have fallen in love with Microsoft Teams. This comprehensive platform has brought features to the table that make it super-easy for most businesses to work with, including (of course) its seamless integration with Microsoft 365’s productivity apps. If you’ve been on the fence about whether to go with Microsoft Teams over another popular platform such as Zoom, you’ll want to know about a couple of new features that just might tip the balance for you.
Great New Reason 1: Offline File Access
The first great reason you should add to your checklist will become available to Microsoft Teams users in July (on both the desktop and Android mobile versions of the platform). If you lose your connection to an online meeting, you’ll have the ability to access files that have already been opened and shared on the platform. This immensely helpful feature can help your team members stay productive even when they work and “meet” from locations that have iffy connectivity.
Great New Reason 2: Microsoft Stream
You’ll have to wait until September for this new feature, but it should prove worth the wait. Microsoft is adding recording and playback functions to its videoconferencing capabilities. For one thing, you won’t have to assign an administrator to record meetings; they’ll all be recorded automatically. If you record your meeting to OneDrive or SharePoint, you’ll also gain the ability to alter the playback speed of those recordings by up to 2x, helping your people cut through the deadwood in favor of the data they need.
